ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Kevin L. Murray is the son of a veteran who was also a Milton Hershey School graduate and a house parent for 30 years until he passed away at age 57. Kevin was raised with many brothers, two of which are biological, the rest were students from Milton Hershey School.

He was instilled with a firm belief that success is what you do for others, not what you do for yourself.

Kevin served 8 years as a Pennsylvania State Constable, trying to help those that couldn't pay their fines because of being unemployed, by connecting them with businesses hiring. “Teaching to fish rather than giving them a fish.”

Kevin is a Charter Member of the local American Legion Riders group at his Post. He has helped with several fundraisers for veterans and children with cancer.

The reason for being involved was clear to Kevin, everything our veterans and children with cancer must deal with and feel, by themselves.

Kevin’s Gram (grandma) would say, “you don't understand unless you could walk a mile in their shoes.”

So, when he does something, it's to help someone.

Kevin says, “I'm humbled when getting recognition because I believe we are all on this earth to help others out. Even on my worst day when bad things happen to me. I say to myself, there is someone out there having a harder day than I'm having. And for that I'm humble and I go to work.”
